Pediatric dry cough management requires a holistic approach that combines appropriate antitussive therapy, supportive care, hydration, and adequate nutrition. Antitussives such as Levodropropizine help reduce cough intensity, frequency, and night awakenings, while other agents are selected according to the underlying cause and type of cough.[1] Nutrition supports respiratory health by providing antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. Regular consumption of fruits, vegetables, and fish, particularly sources of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), may help support immune function and modulate airway inflammation. Adequate hydration maintains airway homeostasis, supports mucociliary clearance, and helps keep respiratory secretions less viscous. Nutritional supplementation with vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin C, iron, or zinc may be beneficial in selected children with deficiencies, although evidence is variable.
