Pediatric cough is a common symptom that significantly affects sleep, school performance, daily activities, and quality of life while placing emotional and economic burdens on families and healthcare systems. Environmental exposures and allergic sensitization are important contributors to persistent cough, making a comprehensive environmental history essential to identify triggers such as dust mites, molds, pets, tobacco smoke, air pollution, and household irritants. Assessment of clinically relevant allergens, combined with targeted environmental interventions, can help improve outcomes.[1] Preventive measures including regular cleaning, humidity control, ventilation, high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration, and allergen-reduction strategies should be integrated into long-term management to reduce exposure, minimize respiratory symptoms, and improve quality of life in children.[2]
